STAR FIXED DEPOSIT ACCOUNT

Higher rates on fixed sum of money/Funds placed for a specific period and interest is paid on maturity of the deposit. The deposit can be re- invested or paid out according to client’s instructions; it can also be used as security for accessing an advance facility.

Main Features and Benefits

  • Account is available in a variety of currencies UGX & USD.
  • For UGX accounts a minimum deposit of UGX 1,000,000.
  • Funds can be fixed on the account for term periods of 3, 6 or 12 months depending on customer’s choice of period.
  • Withdrawal of funds before the maturity period agreed on, results into penalty of interest earned.
  • Extra source of income is realized since Interest is paid on maturity and there are no charges on the account.
  • Funds in your fixed deposit account can be used to secure loans and overdrafts up to 90%.
  • Automatic renewal of the deposits on the maturity date (with prevailing interest rates on the date of maturity) in cases with no specific repayment instructions given by clients.


Basic Requirements

  • Initial deposit you intend to fix with BOIUL.
  • Valid Identification (Passport, Voter’s card, Driving permit, Financial Card, NSSF Card, National ID).
  • Two (2) recent passport size photographs.
  • Proof of mailing & physical address (Utility Bill copy, Tenancy Agreement, Letter from LC or Employer).
